Grassroots Georgia
Paid Canvasser Position

Paid Canvassing Positions:

Grassroots Georgia is a new initiative of the Democratic Party of Georgia and a revolutionary program for Democratic state parties dedicated to grassroots outreach. Paid canvassing positions are an essential part of this new initiative. These positions entail canvassing neighborhoods throughout the state - with an emphasis on specific targeted districts and the metro Atlanta area. Beyond the overall goal of being a positive representation of the Democratic Party of Georgia, there are four critical objectives to each interaction: raising financial support, acquiring volunteers, gathering knowledge on political affiliations, and getting feedback from voters.

The typical work day runs from 2:30 pm to 9:00 pm, Monday through Friday (with the possibility of Saturdays as well). Each work day is divided into two parts: training, and canvassing. Training goes from 2:30 pm until 3:45 pm (at which point we travel to our specific areas for the day). And the actual canvassing will generally take place from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Some part-time positions will be available in specific situations.

How We Are Different:

Another key element to Grassroots Georgia is the Campaign Academy. The purpose of the Campaign Academy is to teach people how to effectively run political campaigns. As a part of Grassroots Georgia, every paid canvasser will have the opportunity to take part in this. Every paid canvasser will have the opportunity to work more closely with the state party's staff and receive exposure to campaign mechanics with the ultimate goal of gaining enough experience to manage or direct a campaign at the state level.

Compensation:

Both of these positions are paid positions. Pay is divided into two components: base pay and bonus pay. Typically, for a full week, the two combined will equal between $300 and $600.

How to Apply:

Paid Canvassers are the backbone of our new Grassroots Georgia initiative, and as a direct link between Georgia voters and the state party, need to maintain a certain level of professionalism, enthusiasm, and performance. To apply contact Kelli Persons at (678) 278-2020
